These questions and more are answered in this straightforward introduction to the digestive system's basic functions, with drawings and animations depicting every step of the apple bite's journey, from the chomping teeth to the gurgling tummy and, yes, the final exit. Types of nutrients in food are discussed, and the importance of good nutrition is mentioned and further expanded on in the excellent accompanying curriculum. While the DVD includes a glossary, it would have been nice to see more onscreen vocabulary for all the organs and other terminology introduced, but that's a minor quibble. Recommended. Aud: E, I. (E.
