Ostensibly this program is a "how-to" video for new fathers, but the entertainment to information ratio is about 4-1. A fictional dad named "Clark" is the host for this video which is broken down into several areas: crying, eating, diapering, bathing, sleeping, and "Famous Dad Tricks." The tricks consist of actual instruction in subjects like how to flip a coin (are there adults out there who don't know how to flip a coin?). The plus is that there is some information on the tape which will aid new fathers, and since the tape seems mostly made for laughs, chances are that dads will watch it. On the minus side, none of the "areas" are even remotely covered in detail. The section on "bathing," for example, tells you to make sure the water is not too hot, don't leave the baby alone, and bring lots of toys for the two of you to play with--there is not a word about actually bathing the baby. Fun to watch, this is, nevertheless, a very optional purchase. (See GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK...THIS SPECIAL LEGACY for availability.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
