"Horses can literally starve to death if their teeth have not been filed," says equine expert Cheryl Rogers on the subject of filing a horse's teeth. Rogers, who heads up the Equine Rescue League is interviewed at Churchland Farms in Leesburg, Virginia by For The Love Of Animals series host Janine Goldsmith. One of four new episodes for the 1992 series (we reviewed two of the 1991 shows in our May, 1992 issue), Basic Horse Care and Ownership is a good introduction to taking care of your horse. Rogers offers tips on selecting a horse, demonstrates proper grooming, discusses medical care, talks about feed, and shows viewers good ideas for shelters. While the video and audio qualities are not really broadcast standard, the information is good and the presentation is appealing. Recommended. Other titles newly available are: A Visit To The Animal Shelter, Bats, and Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
