Judith Allen is the creator and presenter of this short makeup tape aimed at women over 40. After briefly explaining her concept of using two foundations, ON (which matches skin color) and OFF (which is 1-3 shades lighter), she demonstrates makeup techniques on a model. In addition to foundation, Allen offers tips on using camouflage cream, powder, eyebrow and eyeliner pencils, mascara, lip gloss, blush, and highlighter. These "tools" enhance the eyes and lips, a procedure that Allen calls "bringing out the family jewels." Not a bad program, but Florence Henderson's Looking Great, Feeling Great (reviewed in our November, 1991 issue) covers the same ground and much more for nearly half the price. Not a necessary purchase. (Available from: Instructional Video, Inc., 727 "O" St., Lincoln, NE 68508; 1-800-228-0164.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
