Teddy, twentysomething, finds out from his friend Jay that a girl he was interested in named Laura has AIDS. Jay has already made his sister Iris move out of Laura's apartment. Teddy has an awkward visit with a suspicious and bitter Laura, after which he gathers his friends together and mails out informational brochures on AIDS. As a dramatic vignette, Friends For Life is no great shakes. As a tool for teaching young adults compassion vis a vis people with AIDS, the video might be useful as a discussion starter. But it's too slight to stand alone. Not a necessary purchase. (See Digger: Portrait Of A Bamboo Fly Rod Maker for availability.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
