If you've ever seen an episode of Home Improvement, you'll get extra enjoyment out of this video. Not only does the background set look like a Binford dream come true, but the two guys who present the information could pass for Tim and Al...well, OK, maybe you'd have to use your imagination for that. But the banter and the wisecracking are reminiscent of the popular TV program. Joe L'Erario and Ed Feldman are the hosts of The Learning Channel's Furniture To Go series and while it is obvious that they know what they're doing, it's also clear that they have a good time doing it. There are three furniture restoration projects presented in this particular volume: refinishing a ‘hoosier', replacing a marble table top, and reupholstering an old sofa. Even if viewers aren't interested in any of these projects, it's still fun watching these two characters bluster their way around a workshop. Produced with the usual high standards of Discovery Channel videos, this will make a worthy addition to any public library. Recommended. Aud: P. (J. Carlson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
