“Our dogs always tell us what they want,” says licensed massage therapist Eileen Newsome, who shows viewers here how to conduct soothing massage, maintenance massage, and sports massage for dogs, demonstrating specific techniques such as kneading, compression, muscle squeezing, skin rolling, muscle-cuddling, gliding stroke, and cupping, on both small and large dogs. One of the best features is the use of anatomical drawings of both the skeletal and muscular systems of dogs, which appear in a separate box while Newsome offers instruction—so viewers see exactly where Newsome is referring without all that fur in the way. Divided into three segments, with each section featuring voiceover of key points that are also presented in large type on the screen, Good Dog Massage should help make for happy dogs and happy owners. Highly recommended. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
