Aimed at employers who are interested in hiring people with disabilities and/or making the workplace more accommodating, this video is packed with common-sense suggestions and creative problem-solving. Beginning with some reasons why disabled persons make good employees (including the bluntly economic bonus of tax credits for the company) the idea is repeatedly brought home that people with disabilities may have difficulty moving around the building or operating some equipment, but with often simple solutions these problems can be overcome. Lowering a table or providing cups at a water fountain can help someone in a wheelchair, while other disabilities call for the newer adaptive technologies now available, such as a voice-activated computer. The subtle suggestion throughout is that people with disabilities are also professional and intelligent, and they deserve a job and the dignity of personal fulfillment just like everyone else. The only thing missing was a list of sources that sell or rent some of the specialized equipment seen here. Recommended. Aud: C, P. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
