Beer. Baby. Beer. Baby. Geez, I thought the choice was simple: hike with beer. Watching this video, however, which follows 38 babies (decked out in colorful parental transport vehicles), up and down the side of a mountain, brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "traveling with a six-pack." Sporting tips and tales, and listing specific gear baby and parent will need (on a checklist card that may disappear with the first circ), this program does a wonderful job interviewing parents on the joys of hiking with baby. Viewers see moms and dads with front packs (which keeps the baby close and snug as a bug), back packs with cool rain canopies for older babies, and even strollers on the bumpy dirt path. Specific topics include breastfeeding on the trail, napping, clothing choices, diaper changing and suggestions for handling crying cargo. In addition, parents describe the feeling of triumph many experience as they learn to be flexible and spontaneous in a beautiful, clean outdoor environment. Featuring superb camerawork on and off the trail, and well spoken parents, this nicely organized guide is highly recommended. Aud: P. (N. Plympton)
