Professional hair stylist Michael Hall offers tips and techniques for maintaining that "salon fresh look" without the use of hot irons, curlers, or gels, in this hands-on hairstyling guide. After Hall first demonstrates the techniques of "scrunching" up the moussed hair, blow drying in stages, and lightly spraying for that full-bodied look, two other models show viewers how to perform the same process themselves. The final segment--which is almost superfluous--has Hall talking about his approach to cutting hair. The basic steps for styling, however, which require nothing more than mousse, a hair dryer, hairspray, and a pair of hands to produce plenty of curls and volume, are well-demonstrated and could appeal to the working woman on the go who wants to look good, but doesn't have time for a trip to the salon. On the other hand, most of the instruction takes place in the first ten minutes; the last twenty are a little repetitious and the final segment is filler. An optional purchase.
