Apparently created for direct mail sales, Home Haircutting Techniques is a simple guide featuring two demonstration haircuts: the boy/man cut and the girl/woman, which would mainly be useful for young kids rather than adults. The major problem is that the consumer version of the video includes haircutting tools (not included with the library version), and these tools are referenced throughout the tape. The bottom line is that this program is unsuitable for libraries. Not recommended. A better choice is Step By Step Haircutting For Anyone (reviewed in the November 1990 issue). Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
