Forget the wimpy romantic music and soft-focus close-ups of cherubic babies in their mother's arms; this video tries to appeal to new dads-to-be with a guitar soundtrack, a humorous (though occasionally ingratiating) host, and no clinical discussions on breast pain and vaginal discharge, thank you. John Schneider, together with experts such as Dr. Katherine May, offers advice and assurance on a wide range of topics, including pregnant wives' hormonal swings and urges, possible feelings of neglect, typical worries about hurting the baby during sex, loving concern over the mother and baby's health, and a father's responsibility during delivery. Lots of dads interject their opinions and relate their experiences in mostly amusing and warm-hearted recollections that should help relax the target audience of fathers-to-be. A professional production that covers its topic thoroughly and good-naturedly (all that's really missing is a handy summary pamphlet), this is highly recommended. Aud: P. (E. Druda)
