Comedian Mary Schickling adds a lot of entertainment value to this comprehensive and nicely produced guide to planning (and surviving) a wedding. With the average cost of a wedding running somewhere between an arm and a leg, it pays to know what you're doing, and this program is an excellent guide to do's and don't's which will save viewers time, money, and quite possibly social embarrassment. Following real-life couple Jo and Carolyn through the stages of their wedding, the program covers: budget, organization, rings, the ceremony, the reception, bridal attire, tuxedos, catering, music, rentals, flowers, the cake, bridal registry, invitations, make-up tips, and photography. This is, hands down, the best "how-to" on weddings we've seen since Do Your Own Wedding (reviewed in the December, 1991 issue), plus this one's funnier. Highly recommended. Editor's Choice. (Available from most distributors.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
