It's old news that children are little sponges, and absorb everything. I swear my daughter had a 8th grade reading level in utero because I read to my belly (Stephen King, if I remember correctly). The brain is laying down some serious neuron connections during the first three years of life, and the sensory bath of touch, sight, and smell coupled with family interactions is critical to the emotional and physical growth of babies. In this made-for-television special, on-camera host Tom Hanks, and a star-studded celebrity lineup (let me name drop a few...Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Shaquille O'Neal, and the Clintons) looks at infant development and the importance of good parenting skills, as the program focuses on a community in Hampton, Virginia. These particular Virginians have taken the role of "it takes a village to raise a child" to the max by offering every parent in the community access to help and guidance in raising healthy and happy children. Think of the possibilities! Highly recommended. Aud: C, P. (N. Plympton)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
