Part of Leisure Arts' In Motion series of craft how-to videos, the beginner-level I Can't Believe I'm Crocheting!, taught by Melissa Leapman, takes viewers on a step-by-step course, from learning the basics of how to hold a crochet hook through the completion of four projects (including a scarf, belt, and purse). The DVD menu features chapters for the crocheting lessons, projects, and “crochet necessities” (supplies), as well as a handy A-Z index. Illustrated with written pattern details (unfortunately rather small), some of the projects feature Leapman “stitching along,” helpfully describing each stitch as she makes it, while another nice plus is that the “lessons” section includes an inset showing how left-handed crotcheters make the same stitch. A solid introduction to crocheting, this is recommended. [Note: Knit Stitches in Motion is also newly available.] Aud: P. (R. Reagan)
