This sequel to the excellent literacy tape I Want To Read picks up where the initial title left off with more attention given to those tricky vowel pairs (EA, IA, IO, OI, etc.), before moving on to homonyms, singular/plural spellings, abbreviations, contractions, possessive pronouns, punctuation marks, building paragraphs, and deciphering unknown words through context or with the help of a dictionary. Throughout, the tone and level are very basic; sure to put adult would-be readers at ease. The on-camera host speaks in an assured and assuring voice, which maintains enthusiasm while never talking down to the viewer. The step-by-step building of basic reading skills is sound, and the constant exercises keep viewers working hard. A third tape is already in the planning stages, and we look forward to seeing it. The first two parts are certainly winners, and a must for every library collection. Highly recommended. (Available from most distributors.)
