Imagine trying to explain the tax code on a DVD and you have a taste of what Immigration House Call—offering a nitty-gritty review of the forms needed for immigrants entering the U.S.—is like. Following a detailed introduction, the program offers an in-depth look at visa requirements—including forms and procedures—for visitors, relatives, workers, investors, students, entertainers and athletes, missionaries, and other rare visas, while also looking at citizenship requirements, green cards, and waivers for criminal offenses and health issues (each chapter is introduced by inspirational quotes and stock film footage). While the intent here is clearly to explain the immigration process, the program honestly left my head swimming (perhaps purposefully so: if you hire one of the lawyers listed on the producers' website, the purchase price is refunded). While this might be an excellent resource for a paralegal getting up to speed on immigration issues, it will most likely be over the heads of the average blue-collar worker. Bundled with a bonus CD with PDF forms and instructions, Immigration House Call is an optional purchase. Aud: P. (L. Stevens)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
