In this solid guide aimed at helping students get the most out of their assigned reading, viewers will learn how to prepare for a serious study session (generally speaking, lying on one's bed singing along to the Backstreet Boys is not optimum), preview the material (by looking at subheads, graphs, and photo captions), match reading time to attention span (half-hour reading sessions separated by breaks are better than all-night cramming), determine the way material is organized in a text (cause and effect, sequence of events, etc.), and retain what they've read by taking notes, among other useful skills. Although watching students reading is not particularly compelling, visually speaking, the program wisely breaks up the footage with text graphics outlining key points. Recommended. Aud: I, J, H. (R. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
