Two more excellent programs from the "Do-It-Yourself" show. In 'Inspecting', host Les Cizek guides prospective home buyers through the process of checking out a house: getting up on the roof; assessing the neighborhood; noting the condition of the yard and walkway; inspecting doors, windows, walls, and the electrical, heating, and plumbing systems; as well as determining the sound ness of the foundation. Cizek also has tips on what to look for in the kitchen, basement, and attic. In 'Preparing', the reverse role is taken, and Cizek shows viewers how to create the impression of space in a house; cautions viewers to tone down the overwhelmingly personal feeling of some rooms; and exhorts viewers to be honest with prospective buyers. Both tapes are professionally done, and filled with solid information. Highly recommended. (Available from: Do It Yourself, Inc.; 5250 Seventy Seven Center Drive, Suite 340, Charlotte, NC 28217).

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
