Integrating Media Into the Classroom is a two-part series encouraging elementary and secondary school educators to use audiovisual technology as part of the teaching mix. The initial half-hour program, subtitled Theory and Research, offers an overview of available technologies and presents evidence of the benefits of using media in the classroom. The second program, Practice and Case Studies, features interviews with a variety of teachers and students, who discuss format suitability, delivery methods, and selecting appropriate materials. Viewers will receive practical advice on determining which media will prove most effective in stimulating student motivation and retention, creating an atmosphere more conducive to student participation, and helping to transform learning from a mostly passive process of receiving information to a more interactive endeavor. An accompanying workbook features a program outline, suggested activities, and points to additional resources. This series should help educators and administrators to maximize the positive impact of media in the classroom. Recommended. Aud: K, E, I, J, H. (F. Swietek)
