Educating students on the benefits of giving back to the community, this new entry in the award-winning In the Mix series, produced for PBS, also teaches viewers that by volunteering or applying for internships, teens can get a preview of various occupations to find out if they're really interested in the job or the field. Viewers will meet an inner city young man who turned his graffiti experience into a job designing album jackets for PolyGram. Others gain valuable work experience by volunteering at social service facilities such as local hospitals, search and rescue teams, and crisis centers. Combining interviews with volunteering teens and college students together with footage of teens on the job and a list of suggested resources for those seeking further information, this valuable guide is highly recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
