Seamus Kerrigan is the instructor for this straightforward guide to learning a handful of the basic Irish dances. Together with young members from the Kerrigan School of Traditional Irish Dance, Kerrigan demonstrates the steps of the jig, reel, treble jig, and slip jig. The videotaping is not flashy, but adequate, and the instruction is to the point. Not exactly fun nor visually engaging, Irish Dancing Made Easy, Part 1 does do what it sets out to, and serious students of Irish dance will appreciate this. Recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
