This is a fine overview of Vermont's country inns and bed & breakfast establishments, which offers detailed visual guides to over 50 places, as well as a number of recreational and historical sites, throughout the state of Vermont. Grouped by area, each of the entries features voiceover narration about the sleeping, dining, and recreational facilities of each establishment, while viewers see sample guest rooms, the dining room, and the surrounding environs. Often, recommendations and/or awards from major periodicals and institutions are mentioned. Although there is no specific price information given during the program, the video's main benefit lies in allowing potential travelers to really see the insides of prospective places, as well as get a feel for the activities available in the immediate area. A keyed map, included with the video, shows the location of each of the places discussed, and detailed directions and phone numbers are listed on the back. For libraries in the northeast, or, indeed, libraries in general, who have gone beyond the basic travel video collection, this is recommended. Kel's Video also has similar titles for New Hampshire and Massachusetts, as well as "travel and tourism" video guides for Vermont and New Hampshire, and "campground guides" for eight states (CT, FL, MA, ME, NH, NY, TX, and VT). Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
