Superb production values and excellent instruction from professional weight trainer Bill Pearl characterize this outstanding "how-to" designed for both men and women. Pearl, an author, trainer, and 5-time "Mr. Universe" title holder, guides regular folk (not models) through three separate weight routines, comprised of 8-10 exercises. Pearl is a natural and assured instructor and he guides each student through a particular exercise with emphasis on safety and achieving the maximum benefit. In addition to the free weight exercise training, there's an extensive section on machine exercises (some 17 in all, including the hyperextension bench, standing hamstring machine, lateral pulldown machine, etc.). Pearl instructs viewers on how to work muscle groups, moving from the larger muscles to the smaller, and advises that viewers work the muscles in pairs. A brief section on nutrition rounds out this outstanding program. Good attention to safety, sound instruction, and superior production values make Keys to Weight Training For Men and Women an excellent prospect for public library shelves. Highly recommended.
