Louis Rangel, an aerobics instructor/dancer who is listed in the credits as a "non-kid," is the instructor for this low-budget, irritatingly crass, children's workout video. The tape is broken down into three "sets" of exercises which include such standards as jumping jacks and running in place. Rangel, who often gives extraneous commands ("smile," "watch what I'm doing; you can watch Mom later"), has little rapport with his young charges, and the camerawork verges on amateur (for much of the second set of exercises, Rangel's voice is heard, but he is not seen). The whole production has a rushed feeling, as if the producers knew they were making a cheap little kidvid and couldn't care less. There are plenty of far better alternatives out there. Not recommended. (Available from: Magic Lamp Productions, 505 Bocaccio, Venice, CA 90291; (800) 367-9661.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
