Scientific studies have repeatedly shown the importance of touch for babies' physical and emotional well-being, and this fine program on infant massage takes the usual parental urge to cuddle and refines it to a therapeutic level. Massaged babies are more relaxed, sleep better, and have better muscle tone (interestingly, massage has been shown to help the parent/caregiver as well, reducing blood pressure and stress levels). Loaded with practical suggestions for a full body massage, the tape includes good close-ups of the demonstrated techniques for massaging each limb, the trunk (including specific advice for helping gassy babies get out the bubbles), and those sweet little pointy heads. The video also includes a special section for parents of special needs babies, who may be more resistant to massage but will reap the benefits just as much as other babies. Highly recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
