What's the best way to demonstrate dance steps? Not the way Lance Elstridge does here: wearing black pants and black shoes, dancing on a black floor with a black curtain as backdrop. In this intermediate guide to Latin dancing, hostess Teresa Mason guides viewers through new turns and steps to add to the basics (apparently taught in the first program Latin Dancing for Beginners) of the merengue, paso doble, tango, bolero, and mambo. Throughout, Elstridge demonstrates the male movements alone, followed by Mason and Elstridge performing the steps and turns together. As hoofer instruction goes, this is pretty pedestrian. A third tape, Latin Dancing Advanced is also available. Not a necessary purchase. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
