Hosted by Laura McKenzie, this ambitious program is chock full of information, both general and anecdotal. Beginning with an extended tour of Dublin, we visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity College, Dublin's National Gallery, and a number of shopping sites. In addition to pointing out the best areas to shop, Ms. McKenzie offers information on the best times during which to shop--a level of information not found on the other tapes. After Dublin, there is a visit at Killakee House and Restaurant, and an extended interview with the owner. These extended interviews tend to break up the quick pacing of the program, which is the only real flaw we really found. Other stops include Cork, Kenmar, and Adair, and, of course, the Blarney Stone. Recommended. Other titles in the series include: Athens, Paris, Rome, London, Spain, Switzerland, Egypt, Morocco, Hawaii, Los Angeles, and New York. (Available from most distributors).

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
