One of the major environmental hazards to children is invisible, virtually undetectable, and innocently spread over wide areas. The full effects of this hazard are not completely known, but a variety of diseases are being linked to it, including hyperactivity, certain types of cancer, and certain forms of brain malfunctions. The hazard I'm speaking of is lead poisoning and if you think it can't affect you, this video will shake your complacency. Lead is found in many different places, ranging from paint to pottery. As common and as insidious as asbestos, lead has been a popular additive in the past, and the more parents are informed as to its sources, the better they will be able to deal with its consequences. Public libraries will be providing a great service to parents by having this important video. Recommended. Aud: P. (J. Carlson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
