Despite its titillating title, the only thing lurid about this non-technique-oriented production is its overblown scenery and garish graphics. Volume 4 in the Quest for Love series (VL-9/99), the tape interviews such relationship experts as Barbara De Angelis, Thomas Moore, Erica Jong (!), Sam Keen, John Gray, Deepak Chopra, and Margot Anand, all of whom agree that "love is the greatest turn-on that there is," and that empathy, sympathy, good communication, and just plain day-in, day-out respect and trust are the foundation steps that allow couples to ascend into the sacred and ecstatic. Filled with phrases such as "life force of God" and "merging with creation," the video might be a bit too New Age-ish for some, but its points are sensible and valid enough. Unfortunately, the repetitious, tawdry stage-imagery (endless scenes of fire, flying birds, jungle drums, sky/ocean vistas) and overuse of attractive couples dancing, reading poetry, lolling about on hammocks, and running on the beach, weaken its otherwise insightful philosophies.
