Living artfully, according to Sandra Magsamen, consists of turning everyday moments into special ways to connect with family and friends. “Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself,” says the former art therapist turned author, giftware entrepreneur, and “creativity expert” in this PBS-aired special taped before a small audience. Magsamen's prescription for living artfully is to express love in everyday acts, bringing one's whole self to bear—on a moment, a relationship, or even a craft project. Magsamen's presentation, interwoven with personal stories and inspirational quotes, is not exactly a how-to title (although DVD extras include five easy craft ideas, as well as bonus footage), but rather more of a motivational pep talk for those who either want to expand their concept of creativity, or don't think they are creative at all. An upbeat program that is sure to circulate wherever motivational or craft titles are popular, this is recommended. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)

As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
