Those awful after school films we were forced to sit through about "growing up" (you know which ones I mean) have come a long way since I sat cringing and confused in the school cafeteria. Look Who's Growing Up features two bright high schoolers who have been through puberty and (gulp!) survived. Quickly and adroitly handling the embarrassing stuff about menstruation and pubic hair, they move on to the emotional and social changes kids experience at that age, touching on cleanliness, good nutrition, peer pressure, crushes, premarital sex, AIDS, stress, and goals. It's a fast-paced, wide-ranging, frank conversation, reinforced with short quizzes and good natured bantering. Highly recommended. Aud: I, J. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
