From appropriately named Gravity Media, this party ending video features pet owners testifying in front of the camera about how their pets died, how much their pets mean to them and how they have survived the loss. Veterinarians also offer coping tips, and a separate section addresses how to help kids deal with the death of a pet--even a pet rat. Issues include whether to have a burial ceremony, what happens if kids dig up the bones, when to put a pet to sleep and whether or not to immediately replace a lost pet with another. The answer to the latter is agreed upon by all--do not rush out and get another pet, allow the grieving process to take time. Not really geared to children, this video will be useful for adults who have lost pets and for parents who want to prepare their children for such an eventuality. Recommended. Aud: P. (R. Ray)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
