Although Barry Sears (author of Enter the Zone) wouldn't approve some of the carbohydrate-heavy choices of presenters (and registered dieticians) Sandy Miller and Nancy Becker, general medical authorities have yet to make the jump to Sears' increased protein diet. So, for now, let's bring on the pasta primavera! Recognizing the fact that no one actually has time to make dinner anymore, Miller and Becker have crafted a mouth-watering assortment of balanced scrumptious meals which are high in flavor, low in fat, and quickly prepared. Ten meals in all are presented, including chicken pècante, pasta with clam sauce, red beans and rice, baked herbed fish, beef stir fry, and chicken fajitas, among others. The emphasis is on ease--which of course any Burger King can offer; but Lowfat and Fast! also adds good nutrition and savings to the pocketbook, and even lets you use real parmesan cheese instead of the "green shaker" stuff. Highly recommended. Aud: J, H, C, P. (R. Pitman)
