An excellent introduction to renting an apartment/house, especially for students who are moving out of the home and/or relocating for college. The program follows the misadventures and learning experiences of Joe and Larry, two teenagers, who want to share an apartment. Over the course of their search they learn: how to distinguish between "needs" and "wants", the various types of apartments which are available, sources for locating current rentals, determining affordability, understanding fees and security deposits, deciphering the fine print on a rental agreement, the pluses and minuses of leasing, and what to look for when inspecting an apartment (and what questions to ask). A good program which will alert patrons to the basic potential pitfalls that exist between renters and landlords, before they're required to wallow through the arcane verbiage of the state's landlord-tenant act. Highly recommended. (See BABYSITTING THE RESPONSIBLE WAY for availability.)
