Northwest artist Tim Yockey guides viewers through the making of a stained glass window, taking a sample project from initial design to laying on the final touches. Viewers learn about making patterns, cutting glass (as well as the various properties of different glasses and their cost), leading, soldering, and puttying and finishing. Each section is prefaced with suggestions for the tools viewers will need. Yockey's instruction is supplemented by voice-over narration, and overlaid animation to help viewers with the necessary measurements. Both the video and audio qualities are good, and viewers are treated to some nice shots of the lovely finished creations which adorn Yockey's workshop. Highly recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
