Host Nina Lin provides clear and plain instruction in this three-volume set from the extensive and comprehensive Math Made Easy series. Kicking off with an introduction on recognizing and writing fractions (using cookies to illustrate how fractions relate to parts of a whole), which include a numerator (above number) and denominator (below number), Fractions Common Core Curriculum combines an electronic blackboard with Lin's narration, asking viewers to pause the disc while working out answers. The first volume also features segments on “Comparing Sizes” (including the use of a number line to estimate fractions) and “Equivalent Fractions” (with basic story problems), while the other two volumes look at adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. Presenting a sometimes difficult subject in an uncomplicated, conversational manner, this is highly recommended. [Note: Algebra Common Core Curriculum is also available for $189.95.] Aud: J, H, P. (J. Williams-Wood)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
