What's Bowen? Here's a quote from the accompanying literature: “Bowen Therapy is a subtle muscle/nerve/connective tissue technique...[that] consists of a specific sequence of gentle, rolling ‘moves' done across superficial muscles, tendons and nerves.” Sounds like massage, right? Wrong. “Bowen Therapy is a completely new concept in bodywork. It is neither derived from nor similar to any other physical modality. Unlike massage or other manipulations that try to force a change, Bowen simply resets your body to heal itself.” Designed for beginners, the program features 10 clearly demonstrated sets of moves (which still look like simple massage to me, accompanied by New Age hogwash) aimed at specific regions of the body. Since massage can, in fact, be very effective in helping to relieve pain, it can't hurt to try the techniques presented in this program. But there are far better massage tapes on the market that don't' feature either exclamation marks or the word "miracle" in their titles. Not a necessary purchase. Aud: P. (S. Fisher)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
