While nearly all women dream of being a model at some point in their lives, very few understand the work involved in being successful in this demanding field, much less how to get started. Model's Boot Camp explains the size requirements for all modeling markets, including "parts" modeling, catalog modeling, runway and showroom modeling, and commercial modeling, as well as what to expect on the job, while professional photographer Ike Solomon discusses how to find a good photographer and compile a portfolio. In addition, the program looks at the business end of the business: marketing yourself, locating a reputable agency, and getting experience. Well organized, nicely paced, and filled with useful information, this program--as opposed to similar titles that tell the viewer what they want to hear and promise them the moon--will teach viewers how to avoid scams and pitfalls as well as evaluate whether they have what it takes to succeed. A very straightforward, realistic presentation of what being a model requires and entails, this is highly recommended. Aud: H, C, P. (L. Stevens)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
