"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine." That's one of the easier questions in this VCR game for movie lovers (Humphrey Bogart, Casablanca). The tape includes two 50 minute games, each of which contain three types of questions: Classic (name the movie and actor), Choice (name the movie and actor from a provided list), and Clue (name the movie based on lines quoted from the film). Frankly, I was pretty excited about playing this, since I figured that here was a game that I could play and almost certainly wax my kids. Unfortunately, the box gives you no indication that over a third of the questions deal with sexual innuendo, making it a less than optimum game for the family (on the other hand the box doesn't claim that it's a family game, either). If you can get past the abysmal readings of the lines by the gamemakers, it's an okay video for adults (particularly movie fans). Too, this is the kind of tape that you watch once, making it more appropriate for library and/or video rental store purchase than directly by the consumer. An optional purchase. (P.S., I lost.) Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
