One of a series of tapes on "computer literacy" from Silicon Mountain Publishing, MS-DOS Literacy is a good introduction to both DOS, in general, and MS-DOS 3.3, in particular. Sections include an overview, DOS commands, disk basics, file basics, hard disks, and specific features of version 3.3. Excellent close-ups and step-by-step voiceover narrative instruction make this program easy to follow and understand. Though more specific, this program is similar both in quality and content to DOS-The Human Connection (reviewed last issue). For libraries needing extra videos in this area, this is highly recommended. (Note: Silicon Mountain Publishing is currently offering a library special which includes MS-DOS Literacy, Lotus 1 2 3, and Wordperfect for the total price of $89.95.) (Available from: Silicon Mountain Publishing, P.O. Box 24865, Denver, CO 80224-0865.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
