An uneven mix of Napa Valley history and basic commercialism, Napa-Sonoma Wine Country Tour is a narrated guide to some 38 "attractions" in the area, ranging from the Vichon Winery and Beaulieu Vineyard to Amelia Claire (a shoe store) and Stillwaters (a sporting goods store). There are a handful of museums and state parks thrown in as well, but the lion's share of the tour is comprised of wineries, restaurants, and resorts. And while some of the brief looks include a few pertinent historical facts, too much of the narration is poorly written boilerplate come-on ("so come on down and visit..."). There are no in-depth looks at the various places visited, and no usable information proffered (no mention of prices, hours of operation, etc.). California Wine Country, a Video Visits entry from IVN, is a better choice. Not recommended. (Available from: Camera One, Box 22, Geronimo, CA 94963; (415) 488-4179.)
