Although the packaging is very nice, and the subject matter promising, this low-budget program featuring holistic health educator Kay Moon Dreamer is a major disappointment. This talking-head program has Dreamer pointing out the general medicinal benefits of herbs as well as lecturing on the importance of our spiritual relationship with Mother Earth. This is followed by segments on nine herbs (burdock, mullein, yarrow, plantain, elder, etc.), including visual close-ups and discussion of the healing properties of each. Unfortunately, Dreamer describes but does not demonstrate the harvesting, preparation, and application techniques she passes along. Home Herbal Medicine Chest (reviewed in our September, 1990 issue) is far superior. Not recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
