Slow pace notwithstanding, this methodical (and useful) video offers a guide for anyone involved in the nomination and election of officers in organizations where meetings are run using Robert's Rules of Order. Viewers will learn each step of the process in detail, with emphasis on selecting a nominating committee, choosing the best candidates for office, and nominating from the floor. Billed as a good investment to protect the nomination and election process, because officers and members change but the procedures don't, Nominations and Elections is a great tool for any organization to have on hand when new people need to be trained or the procedures need to be reviewed. An instructional booklet with a time code is also included, allowing for specific topics to be studied or reviewed as needed. While the presentation isn't pretty, and the subject is dry, the rules and procedures--if followed--will make any meeting run more smoothly. Given the general dearth of materials on the subject (other titles from Robert McConnell Productions include: Parliamentary Procedure Made Simple [VL-11/93], All About Motions [VL-3/97] and How to Conduct a Meeting [VL-9/98]), this one is recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
