Since essential nutrients are not produced by the body, human beings must take them in from outside sources; in other words, we are required to eat and drink in order to both grow and maintain the body's functions. The first of two parts in the Nutrition for Life series, this program covers the basics of nutrition, before delving into specific aspects of nutrition related to fetal development, infancy, and early childhood. Assuming a general knowledge of human biology, Nutrition for Life One highlights the function of specific nutrients (for example, an infant needs higher levels of vitamin C, which is responsible for the development of soft tissue), combining solid graphics and visuals with a cohesive script (each short topic is also summarized with bullet points). One caveat: since this is an Australian production, metric measurements and non-American nutrition standards are featured, and breastfeeding is shown, albeit discreetly. The second part of the series, Nutrition for Life Two: Youth, Adulthood, and Late Adulthood, is also available separately, as is Nutrition for Physical Activity. Recommended. Aud: H, C, P. (E. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
