Pro golfers Carl Lohren and Gene Borek team up to show viewers Lohren's 'one move' to lower golf scores. The Lohren philosophy is simple: golfers spend too much time worrying about whether their golf swing starts too low or too high, the angle of approach to the ball, and the speed of the swing. To help reduce these problems, Lohren proposes that golfers start their golf swing with the left shoulder. Of course, if that's all there was to it, this would be a two minute rather than a half hour program. Lohren and Borek also cover the pre- shot routine which includes suggested grip, approach, and stance; offer exercises for improving the left shoulder start; and run through a variety of golf shots. Neither of the golfers are polished actors, and an occasional awkward sentence lends unintended humor. Also, about a quarter of the way into the film, a healthy breeze picks up, blowing across the surface of the video camera's microphone creating some background noise. Still, because of the basic information; the friendly, relaxed presentation; and the low price, we recommend this for libraries with strong sports collections. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
