Keiko Williams demonstrates how to make 7 popular origami projects in this effective hands-on introduction to paperfolding. Using an over-the-shoulder-and-above camera angle, the program takes viewers on a step-by-step guide to creating a hand puppet, cup, piano, chair, envelope, rowboat, and flapping crane. In addition, the name of each project and the step number are superimposed on the screen for easy reference. Video and audio qualities are both okay (though in the opening scene the director is clearly heard saying "cut.") A nice added feature is Williams' having completed versions of the previous and current steps onscreen at all times. Sure to be a popular item with arts and crafts patrons, Origami--Paperfolding Made Easy: Vol. 1 is recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
