Though the title Pilates Target Specifics Plus implies a workout using the traditional Pilates technique, fitness instructor Elizabeth Young here combines a number of different methods, including yoga, dance, and finally Pilates, to help tone the body's trouble areas, targeting the legs, arms, butt, and abs in four 15-minute segments. Opening with a perfunctory introduction and warm-up, the program also features modified postures by a couple of smiling backup posers, and finishes with a cool down. A serviceable but ultimately disappointing entry in the acclaimed The Method series, this gets an extra half star knocked-off for the cheap and distracting filming: Young, who isn't the most dynamic spandex in the fitness drawer, bounces between a stability mat laid out on some humdrum beach in California and a staged studio set, replete with fake sand and shrubs. Not recommended. Aud: P. (N. Plympton)
