An uninspired though serviceable introduction to Cambridge's The Complete Job Search System, which--if this initial volume is any indication--is more "complete" in generalities than specifics, Planning Your Career encourages students to perform a self-assessment analysis. That is, to list one's hobbies, interests, and skills, and see if any career ideas pop out; a reasonable enough way to embark on a career search. The host narration and interview clips are fairly run-of-the-mill (actually, once the opening and end credits are subtracted, you're looking at about 10 minutes of actual instruction here) and some of the footage used to visually fill out the interviews seems arbitrary and is occasionally repetitive. The entire series, which includes Career Evaluation, Finding a Job, Interviewing for a Job, and Succeeding on the Job, as well as a pair of supplementary manuals, is available for $295. An optional purchase. Aud: J, H. (R. Pitman)

This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
