Gentle, flowing movements require concentration and solid muscle, as any ballerina can tell you. This workout is based on the movements of ballet, beginning with a short lesson in stance and the positions of the feet. Everything is demonstrated by eight-month pregnant dancer Erin, who is an inspiration to all expectant moms feeling huge, clumsy, and at odds with the sudden shift in the center of gravity they experience. With Ms. Taggart providing the verbal instruction and a quick overview of the sequence of movements, the program demonstrates a wide range of ballet-inspired exercises and stretches that emphasize balance and strength in the legs and back. The spare piano music is excellent and appropriate (no loud pumping beat with cheerleader types, the trademark of most exercise videos). Great for expectant moms...and others who might discover the ballerina hiding within. Highly recommended. Aud: P. (E. Druda)
